The learning hub

Your first 30 days of Muay Thai

A suggested beginner roadmap for finding your feet, asking useful questions and building a routine you can keep.

General educational guidance · FEBA-specific details are identified separately.

Start with a workable plan

This is a suggested learning roadmap, not an official FEBA curriculum or a promise of what you will master in a month. Your coach should guide the actual session content and progression. Begin by choosing a branch and a class time that fits your real week, including the journey there and home.

FEBA has branches in Subang Jaya, Mahkota Cheras and Kepong. Confirm your trial with the team before travelling. Its trial instructions ask for comfortable workout clothes and hand wraps if you have them; gloves are provided for the trial.

Days 1–7: learn the room

Make your first goal understanding how class works. Tell the coach you are new, ask where to stand and listen to the demonstration before beginning. Ask for help with equipment rather than copying another student and hoping it is right. Choose one useful cue to remember, such as the coach's reminder about your stance or returning to guard.

Days 8–14: make the basics familiar

Revisit the movements your coach has introduced. When a sequence feels confusing, ask to see it slowly or practise its separate parts under instruction. Keep a short note after class: what you practised, what became clearer and what you want to ask next time. A specific question is easier to work on than simply deciding that you are bad at a movement.

Days 15–21: connect the details

Notice how you move between actions, listen to instructions and work with a partner. Follow the assigned drill and agreed pace. If you lose the sequence, reset and ask. Avoid turning every round into a test of power or speed; give yourself room to understand the task.

Days 22–30: review and adjust

Look back at your notes with the coach. Which instructions now feel familiar? What still needs attention? Was your planned schedule realistic? Choose one learning priority and a manageable attendance plan for the next month. Thirty days can be a useful review point, but it is not a deadline for becoming confident or reaching any particular level.
